Postcard of Oahu

For
a more in-depth look at the island of Oahu, the Video Postcard
of Oahu DVD is just what you are looking for. This is a far more
expanded version of Oahu than what you will find on the Video
Postcard of the Hawaiian Islands. The Video Postcard of Oahu also
has a Japanese audio track on the same DVD.
The
Video Postcard of Oahu takes the viewer on an
80-minute journey throughout Oahu. The viewer will
be immersed in the production featuring some of the
most breathtaking and exciting footage ever shot on
Oahu and in dynamic Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
Sound. Our on-camera host, Maria Quiban and
Wildside host, Catherine Crevier will take us on an
exciting journey.
The
history of Hawaii is full of epic voyages of
discovery and idyllic isolation, kings and queens,
heroes and villains, the rise and fall of kingdoms,
treachery, greed, revolutions and even war. Maria
Quiban and our featured experts take us on a
journey, covering almost 2,000 years of Polynesian
history and cultural heritage, examining the
history of Hawaii from the first Polynesian
explorers to the splendors of the 19th century
Hawaiian Monarchy.
Then
we go on an adventure around Oahu, from spectacular
aerials to POV visuals and narrative comments from
our featured experts. They take us from the major
tourist attractions to the hidden parts of Oahu
rarely seen, featuring over 60 locations in all. It
is a combination of what you might see on the
Travel Channel, the History Channel and an IMAX
movie all in one.
We
visit places like the famous Polynesian Cultural
Center, Bishop Museum and 'Iolani Palace. We go to
Pearl Harbor and relive moments like the tragedy
and heroic tales of December 7th, 1941 at the USS
Arizona Memorial. We also pay our respects to our
fallen soldiers at the National Memorial Cemetery
of the Pacific. Kim Taylor Reece captures the Hula
Kahiko with his amazing photos.
When
we think of Oahu we can't help but think of the
great beaches. We visit many of the magnificent
beaches and places that surround this island. From
Ko Olina, Makaha, Yokohama Bay, the island of
Mokolii to the famous Waikiki Beach. We travel up
to the legendary North Shore and we look at the
history of surfing. We see places like Sharks Cove,
Waimea Beach and Lanikai. We see the magnificent
beauty of Hanauma Bay. We visit the quaint rustic
surfer town of Haleiwa.
We
turn up the heat a little and our Wild Side Host,
Catherine Crevier takes us on an inside track to
some of the more adventurous and wild things to do
on Oahu. From learning how to surf with Hans
Hedeman, going on a white-water outrigger canoe
ride, sailing away on the Mai Tai Catamaran, to
going back in time with Duke Kahanamoku while
dining at Duke's Canoe Club. We explore the
nightlife in Waikiki and Honolulu dancing the night
away at the hottest nightclubs.
Now,
there are so many things to do on Oahu it hard to
know where to begin. We start at the famous Dole
Pineapple Plantation then off to the Honolulu Zoo,
Waikiki Aquarium, Sea Life Park and Atlantis
Submarine Adventures. We Dine on the Navatek I,
visit the Waimea Valley Audubon Center and end our
spectacular day with a beachfront luau at Paradise
Cove. We go skydiving at Pacific Skydiving Center,
and see the adventures thousands of feet above Oahu
at Paradise Air. We hike Diamondhead and Kos Hummer
Tours takes us on a tour in style at the breath
taking Kualoa Ranch.
We
discover the hidden Ko Olina Resort then a stop at
the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout for a spectacular view of
the Ko'Olau Mountain Range. We discover the
Byodo-in and then explore the unlimited shopping
and dinning options at the Aloha Tower
Marketplace.

is all this and more as we embark on a fabulous
