Postcard of The Hawaiian Islands

The
Video Postcard of the Hawaiian Islands DVD gives you an overview
of all the major Hawaiian Islands. For a more in-depth look at
a specific Hawaiian Island, see the additional Video Postcards.
The Video Postcard of the Hawaiian Islands also has a Japanese
audio track on the same DVD.
The
Video Postcard of the Hawaiian Islands takes the
viewer on a 90-minute journey throughout the
fascinating Hawaiian Islands; Oahu, Hawaii's Big
Island, Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kauai. The
viewer will be immersed in the production featuring
some of the most breathtaking and exciting footage
ever shot in the Hawaiian Islands and in dynamic
Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Our on-camera
host, Maria Quiban and Wildside host, Catherine
Crevier will take us on an amazing journey.
The
history of Hawaii is full of epic voyages of
discovery and idyllic isolation, kings and queens,
heroes and villains, the rise and fall of kingdoms,
treachery, greed, revolutions and even war. Maria
Quiban and our featured experts take us on a
journey, covering almost 2,000 years of Polynesian
history and cultural heritage, examining the
history of Hawaii from the first Polynesian
explorers to the splendors of the 19th century
Hawaiian Monarchy.
Then
we go on an adventure throughout the islands. From
spectacular aerials to POV visuals and narrative
comments from our featured experts. They take us
from the major tourist attractions to the hidden
parts of the islands rarely seen, featuring over
100 locations in all. It is a combination of what
you might see on the Travel Channel, the History
Channel and an IMAX movie all in one.
We
visit places like the famous Polynesian Cultural
Center, Bishop Museum and 'Iolani Palace. We go to
Pearl Harbor and relive moments like the tragedy
and heroic tales of December 7th, 1941 at the USS
Arizona Memorial. We also pay our respects to our
fallen soldiers at the National Memorial Cemetery
of the Pacific. Kim Taylor Reece captures the Hula
Kahiko with his amazing photos.
We
visit many of the magnificent beaches and places
throughout the islands. From the well-know sands of
Waikiki to the secluded beaches few have ever seen
to the ebony shores of the black sand beaches on
Hawaii's Big Island. We take in the sun at Hanauma
Bay to the shores of Kaanapali. We go to the North
Shore of Oahu to brave the surf on the monster
waves and learn the history of this famous sport.
We go snorkeling on Poipu Beach to scuba diving off
Kona. There are hundreds more and we found the best
to share with you.
We
turn up the heat a little and our Wild Side Host,
Catherine Crevier takes us on an inside track to
some of the more adventurous and wild things to do
in the islands. From learning how to surf to going
on a white-water outrigger canoe ride. We go biking
down Haleakala on Maui, Skydiving on North Shore
Oahu, to helicopter rides and boat excursions along
the Napali Coast. And of course we discover the
nightlife in the world-class clubs in Honolulu to
the great bars in Lahaina. There's definitely a
wild and adventurous side of the Hawaiian Islands
and you will be right there with us.
The
production features some of the most prominent
locations and attractions throughout the islands
like the Volcanoes National Park, Napali Coast,
Smith's Tropical Paradise, Diamondhead, Dole
Plantation, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, Princeville,
Kona, Kilauea, Lahaina, Waimea, Hana, Haleakala
crater, Manele Bay, Kalaupapa, Wailea, Parker
